Booker, the UK’s leading food & drink wholesaler, has signed an exclusive deal with Sir Geoff Hurst to front their World Cup campaign. As well as Sir Geoff Hurst appearing on point-of-sale, there will be an exclusive competition for Booker customers to win 42" plasma TV’s and other World Cup memorabilia.
Fantastic prizes
Available from 12th May until 13th July, Booker customers will automatically be entered every time they shop at Booker, to win one of 200 42" plasma TV’s, replica England ’66 football shirts or footballs. All of the replica shirts and footballs have been signed exclusively by Sir Geoff Hurst. This means the more a customer shops, the more chance they have of winning, with at least one plasma TV to be won at each of Booker’s 173 branches. Both the TV and the football memorabilia are ideal for publicans or licensees to then use as prizes in their establishment.
Booker money saving deals*
Booker is also locking down the prices on a great range of products including £66 for a keg of Carlsberg for nine weeks. Other great deals include Schweppes mixers 24 x 125ml for just £4.00 and Magners 12 x 568ml for an amazing £13.00. Booker will also be holding special two day events throughout the two months to offer customers some fantastic money saving promotions and deals.
Football food promotion
To help caterers build on the need for quick and convenient food pre-match, at half time and full time, Booker is offering a range of ‘World Cup Winners’ to suit a fully equipped kitchen or simply a microwave. Covering everything from Nachos through to chilli & rice and gourmet burger & chips to chicken goujons & wedges, there will be a meal solution for everyone. These are ideal for customers who may want to stand and can be used as a way to keep customers after matches. With some plate costs as low as 25p, this could be a perfect way to increase sales and profits.
"Booker is delighted that Sir Geoff is part of our campaign," said Ron Hickey, Sales Director – Catering. "I’m sure our customers will love this promotion as there are some incredible prizes to be won. This is an important trading time for our customers and the deals available from branch, coupled with the trade events, will really add to their profitability. The summer offers a great opportunity to grow sales and have some fun in their business. I hope our customers will really benefit from our promotion and the coming summer World Cup."
For Premier shoppers
Premier retailers will also benefit from a consumer ‘txt to win’ competition. Prizes include TV’s, X-boxes, signed Sir Geoff Hurst football shirts and footballs. Available to the shopper from 12th May to 13th July, all promotional point-of-sale including posters, shelf cards and leaflets will feature Sir Geoff Hurst. Premier’s website (www.premier-store.co.uk) will also highlight the great promotion available in store.
"The World Cup provides independent retailers with fantastic opportunities for them to build their business. By getting the basics right of availability, great promotions and chilling alcohol I believe this will be a great summer for them. We have some tremendous deals and with the trade events there will be some massive savings. I hope independent retailers have a great World Cup. "
