Booker drops prices on bread and milk

Booker, the UK’s leading food & drink wholesaler, has dropped the price of its bread and milk. Kingsmill bread is now an amazing 65p per loaf while the price of all milk variants have been lowered, which includes 2L at a fantastic 85p. All of these low prices are guaranteed for nine months until the end of September.

The price of 1L is now only 59p and 1 pint has also been dropped to an incredible 35p, which is a price reduction of over 22% on both products, while still offering high margins to retailers of over 36%. Booker is also launching a new product – Wiseman’s ‘The One.’ This can help independent retailers capitalize on the growth of semi-skimmed milk and the growing trend for lower fat, healthier milk. Available at just 79p for 2L and with a RSP of £1.29, it offers independent retailers a fantastic POR of over 38%.

“Bread and milk are the two most important products to convenience stores,” said Steve Fox, Sales Director – Retail. “It is a challenging market with costs constantly rising, however we have secured this price to ensure the best value for our independent retailers. By guaranteeing the price to September, we are giving our customers the confidence that they will be able to offer their shoppers consistent pricing, that helps them to compete with the multiples. I hope retailers can really take advantage of these great prices to increase footfall into their stores.”
