10% more customers for Booker’s ‘Meet the Butcher’ week

Booker, the UK’s leading food & drink wholesaler, is delighted with the success of its ‘Meet the Butcher’ week with 10% more customers visiting branches throughout the event and sales up 22%.

 Throughout the week, the Butchery departments held product tastings, cookery demonstrations and gave away samples so customers could taste the quality and flavour of Booker’s fresh meat.  On hand were Booker’s team of Catering Development Managers along with the butchers to provide expert advice and guidance, with the two most popular products proving to be Booker Basics bacon and Extra Mature beef.

"Booker’s butchery departments are an important part of our service to caterers," said Ron Hickey, Sales Director – Catering. "It is a completely unique service specially for caterers with all cuts available at significantly cheaper prices than those available in the supermarkets.  Customers have the flexibility and convenience to telephone their order through so it will be ready for collection or simply call into branch to discuss their requirements with the butcher.  With overall footfall increasing by 10% during the week, I am happy they are seeing the reasons to choose Booker."
