Booker Festive Menu Guide is out now

Booker, the UK’s leading food and drink wholesaler, has launched its brand new Festive Menu Guide for 2009.  The new guide includes an impressive selection of starters, main courses, desserts and a cheeseboard as well as two buffet options at £1 and £2 per plate.

The menu guide clearly shows the cost per serving on all the dishes so caterers and licensees can set their prices with confidence.  For example, a three course Christmas menu of soup and a roll, turkey with all the trimmings and mini Christmas pudding with brandy sauce has a cost price to the caterer of only £2.37. This means if a caterer sells this menu at £12.95 it will provide them £10.85 cash profit. 

“Booker is committed to choice up, prices down and better service,” said Ron Hickey, Sales Director - Catering.  “Christmas is a busy time for caterers and licensees and we hope this guide will help them offer great quality meals, with the reassurance of knowing the exact price they are paying for the ingredients, in these cost conscious times.”

As well as menus, as this is also the buffet season for caterers, two great quality buffet selections are also highlighted including a standard or premium option.  The standard buffet has a low plate price of just £1 per person and consists of 10 tasty items including mini chicken satay, vegetable samosa, quiche lorraine, sausage roll and savoury egg.  The premium buffet has a plate price of £2 and includes more premium items such as lamb kofta kebab, butterfly king prawns, buffet pork pie and chicken wings.  As well as the excellent food offering, the guide also details some of the great tableware and decorations available to create a fantastic party atmosphere.
